Mitsubishi VRF - Dual Set Point on wireless remote control

This article applies to the following CoolAutomation  products:

  • CoolMaster
  • CoolMasterPro
  • CoolMasterNet
  • CloudBox
  • CooLinkHub
  • CooLinkBridge

What is Dual Setpoint

A dual setpoint is a control system setting (one form of 'Auto' mode) with two distinct temperature targets, one for heating and one for cooling. It differs from a single setpoint that serves both cooling and heating.

When will we encounter it

Dual Set Point is a function existing in Mitsubishi Electric units. When activated, it prevents the wireless remote control from working when the cool device is connected.

How to identify the issue

Four beeps when trying to control the unit from the wireless remote control indicates misalignment between the unit and the remote control's auto mode - one is on single-setpoint and the other is on dual-setpoint.

As seen on the Mitsubishi electric manual:

How does it corresponds with Cool devices

When a Cool device is connected, it defines "central" control and single set point. This can create conflict with the IR remote if it is set to dual set point. In order to solve this conflict the wireless remote control and the unit needs to be changed to the single auto mode through its settings procedure.
