This article applies to the CoolMaster EDGE
Purpose
Enable 16 VDC output on Line L2 of a CoolMaster EDGE so the D3-D4 adapter can power up and communicate with Daikin D4 systems over D3net.
Prerequisites
- CoolMaster EDGE running firmware version 1.10.5 or newer
- CoolMaster EDGE connected directly to a D3-D4 adapter with no native DIII-NET (D3-net) devices (i.e., no Daikin R410 VRV condensing units nor Daikin iTouchManagers) on the same D3-net bus.
- Terminal Command Line access to the EDGE (local or via web UI Terminal tab).
Steps
Run
infoand confirm L2 currently shows 0 V:> info L2 DC- 0V
Expected response:
L2 DC- 0VDo not proceed if it already shows 16 V — the bus is already powered.
Enable DC output on L2:
line DCOUT L2 +
Expected response:
OK, Boot Required!
Reboot the EDGE:
boot 2
After reboot, run
infoagain and confirm:> info L2 DC+ 16V
- Wait 10–20 minutes for the D3-D4 adapter to fully initialize and start sending D4 system data via the F1-F2 port into the EDGE.
Notes
Only enable 16 V when there are no other native D3-NET devices on the bus. If ODUs or ITMs are connected in parallel, they supply their own voltage — enabling DCOUT from the CoolMaster EDGE in that scenario will cause issues.
- The 10–20 min wait after reboot is normal; the D3-D4 adapter needs time to initialize.
- If D4 units still don't appear after 20 min, verify wiring to the D3-D4 adapter and re-check
infooutput.
